I doubt many people will be playing on the PS3 by the time the PS4 comes around, so this game really has a 2 month life cycle... It reminds me a lot of Dust 514, but Dust was downright bad, so we'll see about this one. More F2P games are never a bad thing though!

As the resident Ace Combat nut, I'm glad this will be for current gen consoles.

I don't think the PS3 crowd will just vanish overnight.
After all, Sony are confident enough for Gran Turismo 6 to be a PS3 only game for the time being, and the same goes for GTA5.
Make no mistake, the best selling game of 2013 will not be a Xbox One or PS4 game. Smile

As for the game itself, I'd kind of prefer if it wasn't F2P, saying as that basically just means tons of micro-transactions, and that's a scary concept with aircraft that are somewhat inherently unbalanced (For example, an F-22A Raptor or PAK-FA are a completely different league from the F-15).

I also hope the game has a full-fledged campaign mode.
That's the series' main strength.
Some of the hints Project ACES have been releasing do at least suggest there is some overarching story going on, and also that this game is a return to the alternate universe of Strangereal with all the references to the Ulysses 1994XF04 asteroid.

In the mean time, have a Brit themed Ace Combat vid from my vault. :P

The game, if you pay attention to EVERY single detail looks to be set in the real world ( Angry ). Despite that, it does look to play at a real-world version of strangereal, so maybe there is hope for this game. I'll be watching this closely as real world titles have been mediocre at best (Joint Assault).

Joint Assault wasn't brilliant, but neither was Skies of Deception.
I blame the PSP for that more than anything else really.
The analogue 'stick' on the PSP is awful for Ace Combat.
