Birds of Pray was great, a good mix of arcade and sim, depending on how you wanted to play.

What would be even better would be to have an FPS element where you could land and then go into a COD style war game as well.

The console games are made by Gaijin and the PC ones by Oleg Maddox, two different companys. It's not anyone's fault that this isn't on PC.

@PB I prefer my games to be pure sim - getting out and running on the ground would destroy that for me.

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon fella's!

The only flight game that I will be getting this year, as I am a big fan of the Ace Combat series.

Unfortunately my, very humbly, opinion of that is that it's a load of BS.

I've never had a handbreak in an aeroplane, I don't want to fly up behind someone and get an insta-kill with a rocket. Then there would be online: it'd be like Hawx which basically consists of gain altitude, dive a target, hit the missile button and climb back up. Rinse and repeat. Its so monotonous and boring.

What you need is to be able to fly at 200 feet, in the cockpit, looking out at your shining silver wings when they suddenly get a splattering of hot metal. Pulling up, controlling the plane with the effects of the damage and getting behind your opponent takes skill, observation and patience. Something all of my games need.

Don't worry, it will come to PC as well with a later announcement.

EDIT: Infact Anton Yudintsev himself just announced it on the Gaijin forums :P

Ace Combat any day to be honest. HAWX doesn't even compare to Ace Combat, as HAWX was poorly designed, thought straight from the word go.

I got IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey on the PS3, and it was ok, but linear in my opinion. The dogfights were far and between, and there was no feel that you are in a war 'Battle of Britian' springs straight to mind. The history behind that battle wasn't coming through the level, which was a huge disappoint.

Well there is no point in arguing with you (even though I'm right Wink )

We're looking at this in a totally different way - the Battle of Britian wasn't a constent fight, you did actually have to fly between missions. It, really, was made to play with a stick. How I play, and love it.

I really like the realism of it all - which is why I dislike AC so much.
