They'll still shift slowly even when next gen hits, simply because there are 100 million or so current gen consoles kicking about, and only roughly 5 million next gen consoles initially.

What's going to be interesting is how the franchises do over Christmas on each respective generation.

Either way, because of the change in generation, it's going to be really tough to determine if the franchises are in trouble or not for a good few months.

Think AC can recover if Ubi do the whole 'AC one year, Watch Dogs the next, AC after, etc' because it'll eliminate the series 'fatigue' possibilities, and I'd be more than happy for that to occur.
Not sure why Battlefield 4 is dropping, I mean Battlefield 3 was released two years ago, it's not experiencing series 'fatigue' exactly. Maybe they need to switch between it and Bad Company?
CoD... pffft who knows how to 'save' it? They'll not stop a yearly title, I think it won't meet its record sales anymore.

Damn I've used so many hyphens.
