Puts a bit of pressure on Halo Wars doesn't it?

My personal view is that strategy games can work fine on a console, the audience just isn't there. The same thing used to be said of the FPS genre, but once gamers got their thumbs around the analogue stick method it worked out ok, look at the numbers playing COD4 and how much anticipation there is for Killzone 2.

As for management games specifically, I'll have to give Roy the benefit of the doubt, not my genre at all. I'd guess one of the biggest hurdles aside from the genre practically being non-existent on consoles is the updating which would have to be done via Live/PSN, which I'm guessing would incur extra costs for the developers. Then there's the whole 'alt-tab to Google around for tips and community interaction aspect' which can't be done on consoles.

It does seem rather strange that it's one of the few genres that hasn't made the leap from PC to console, but I totally disagree with "console owners 'don't want a game you've got to think about too much'". Just because those types of games aren't widely available on consoles doesn't mean there's a bunch of gamers that play on both PC and console that don't want them.

I'd offer a solution, but it's incredibly risky:- release a 360/PS3 American Football version for the U.S. market to test the waters.

Fantasy your right. They can be made well for console. I love the games. But as you said the market isnt there most people dont want to play them. The big market for these games is the P.C. Its sad cause we could have some great titles.
