Studio will be involved in all future Need for Speed titles - dev hasn't forgotten about Burnout. Is EA Gothenburg involved?

Brilliant news. They're great developers and I'm pretty confident that they will be great consultants of the franchise, too.

I'm not so sure that I would like to see all forms of racing under one disc release. I think I would prefer the arcade/street, serious/track* titles to remain independent of each other. But once again, I have faith in Criterion.

'Need For Speed: Burnout' incoming? :P

*Or, just ditch the Shift franchise?

It is great news, and the fourth change for the NFS franchise(think thats right), really racking it up!

Maybe EA Gothenburg is a new Criterion studio that will focus on Burnout?

They could integrate all the NFS Titles and a similar plot from DRIVE and have you starting as a street racer (Underground) and becoming a pro racing driver (Shift) that gets involved in some dodgy stuff and ends up been in car chases (most wanted) and racing to the border (hot pursuit). They could have a streamlined story instead of just free roam driving around for races that's been done too much nowadays and a more story based racer Is needed.

I have a feeling Gothenburg will become the new Black Box, with NFS titles rotating between the two every other year and leaving Black Box to do what it does best. Ie. Skate 4.
