In my opinion Bungie have only ever made one good game - the original Halo, but they have allowed the financial success of the Halo franchise to go to their heads.
The Destiny project is far too ambitious, and Bungie thinking they are guaranteed 4 Destiny games over the next 10 years shows they have become arrogant from the success of Halo. What if the first game is a critical and financial failure? Why has it taken 4 years just to design the engine for the game? Why reveal the game when there is practically nothing to show of it? Why reveal it now, so far away from it's unknown release date? Will anyone still care about the game by the time it is finally released?
There are far too many unknowns about the game and the whole project in general, and ultimately I think we'll end up with a pretty looking generic FPS with none of the originality of other sci-fi games such as Mass Effect

This part will be a lot to do with Activision. Look at their previous franchises.

This is what happens when Activision tells somebody to make something. The last time Activision put together a new engine for their big title was COD2. That's right, up until Ghosts hits, all of your COD games have been made on the same engine as COD2 was in 2005...and we won't see another new engine until the next console in 2023.

Activision doesn't care about game quality. They want cheap to make franchises that they can pump out and overprice...and people pay for them. It's sickening.

I'll be honest, watching the "story trailer" for this game had me interested but immediately I was raging at myself because that meant I was thinking positive towards something from Activision and Bungie.

The ideas are great, the people behind them mean it will be awful.
