| Seems a bit like marmite looking at other scores around the net - very mixed reviews. From 3 to 9 out of 10.
Of course Pro-G has the bestest opinion, though.

| Well I know that a lot of people hold this series pretty close to their hearts - as witnessed in a lot of reviews. First things first I don't consider 5 to be a bad score. Below average perhaps but not bad.
The reason I gave this a 5, as opposed to a 6 which was a posibility, is that the gameplay does have some major problems. There's just no depth, no challenge and lots of filler. On average it will take you around 10-15 hours to complete, even for inexperienced adventure players, which isn't bad. But a lot this is just time spent wasting time with fetch and carry tasks. I'd much rather they got to the point had had a shorter game than wasted time with filler.
Fans of adventure games, and especially of The Longest Journey, will certainly enjoy this game but it brings little new to the table. In some respects it takes adventure gaming backwards in regards to gameplay. |

| I totally agree with you. The story, while being fantastically woven, is hinder absolutely by the fact that the gameplay is oh so poor. I mean the puzzles are the simplest I've ever done, with the item you find in a room being used with the puzzle in the same room.
As you said, far too many fetch quests as well.
I'd say this would've been better as a book or a CGI movie as the plot is consistently strong. |

| This 5/10 showes that some people loves good graphics more then a good story. For me a good story is almost everything. 15 hours with a story line that engages you to the max is just wondefull. I hate games that are complex without a storyline that engages to the end, and that has a meaning. I just stop playing them. |
