I noted the staggered release for the two different platforms at the end there. Does that mean there'll be no cross-platform play between the two versions? (PC and PS3).

Seems a missed opportunity if that's the case. Lots of interesting potential here though, so will be interested to see how things develop after launch in terms of business model and ingame advertising opportunities.

Seems like 2009 is the year of experimentation, what with BF1943 trying out electronic delivery and now this.

During Sony's presentation of the game, cross-platform play was mentioned. I was told that it is certainly technically possible, but they are still working out issues surrounding balance. PS3 owners might have an advantage in the car racing mini-game for example because they're using a pad.

The game lends itself to a console version, by the way. There's no drag and drop, for example. They want to provide keyboard and mouse support for the PS3 as well.
