Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland Review
Quote:
Forgetting the Zelda license, Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland is a relatively easy RPG with tedious gameplay, rudimentary combat and a bartering system that'll have you tearing your hair out.

Have to say this review is WAY too harsh, the faults the review highlights are part of the game mechanics, its like criticising Final fantasy for having turn based battles. Yes the rupee system is strange and can be infuriating, but thats what its supposed to do to some extent. the battles are fine and the way they work gives you the ability to guide your fighting character into more enemies, thus increasing the booty you recieve which is a key element to gaining ingredients for cooking.

There is nothing at all wrong with the save system either, its traditional to this sort of game and apart from the odd occasion, getting to the map and choosing the go home option to save isnt a chore at all.

Not to criticise the reviewer, but how long did you actually give the game and did you even play it in English (presuming you cant read Japanese)?

I have to admit I felt the same about the rupee thing when i first played it, but 30+ hours into it, Im enjoying this game a lot. 80% for me.
