Sad Noooooooooooo!

My only turn-to shooting action these days is in the Tom Clancy games. I enjoy the tension of having to sneak at snails pace round a corner for fear of a bullet. I enjoy having to study my map and plan my approach. I'm so disappointed that they are heading mainstream.

Back int'day friends and I would pack up our PC's and arrive at a designated flat. Once set up and connected via LAN (always a pain in the arse) we would spend hours playing Ghost Recon. The fear of the bullet was a firm reality, as if you were taken down first, then you could have sat around for hours waiting for the game to finish. This may sound stupid to the modern gamer, but believe me, it added heaps of pressure and excitement to a game. (losers would spend the waiting time playing unreal tournament Smile )

I also spent a lot of time playing GRAW on the PC and when I moved onto PS3 I played a great deal of Rainbow 6: Vegas with friends (and witnessed some of my favourite multiplayer moments ever).

I was hyped for Future Soldier, but over the past 12 months have feared that my beloved franchise was changing (I blame Kinect). Now my interest has almost disappeared. Tom Clancy games have lost their appeal.

I'm concerned for the Splinter Cell series too. Conviction was cool. But, not a scrap on Chaos Theory.
