Quite surprised to see this in a top games of 2013 list. I appreciate the series itself is hugely popular, but even as a non-FIFA player I think FIFA 12 was the better (in terms of actually working properly) game.

FIFA 13 shipped with invisible footballs and an Ultimate Team feature that has had to be removed from the game twice to my knowledge, any other publisher and we'd be tearing them to shreds.

I also take it that you're not talking about the FIFA 13 version on the Wii (aka FIFA 12 with updated rosters) which for me was the straw that broke the camel's back after decades of us letting EA get away some terrible practices. Not a penny more from me, I don't care what they bring out.

I got bored of the series after Fifa 2006, I did play 09 but it was just the same as 06 to me and that was me done with the series.

They did experiment this year though with adding Euro 2012 into Fifa 12 as DLC but I think they should do that with the main games personally and make them last 2 and a bit years.
I don't wanna buy a game and the MP is gonna pretty much last me less than 8 months just to bring out another version with pointless upgrades.

But in the real football world, this years ball kicking has been good Neon Grin

I got bored of the series after Fifa 99, about when it all started to get too much like hard work and went all serious. Bring back ISS Deluxe on the SNES!

It's an excellent game that improves year on year but I'd have a hard time rewarding an already massively recognised and awarded studio when they continue to make the same fundamental and glitchy errors.

Also the options that American Users get for their "franchise" games show how far behind EA are in that respect, why I don't know as "Soccer"/Football is the biggest game in the world so you would think they'd be up to scratch on that end of things.
