I can only presume that a) people see this (and StarCraft) as solid, decent choices and/or b) people have stopped caring about the list.

I'm amazed this isn't higher, especially given what all three of you have to say about it.

I'll wager none of the 5 games above it recieve anything even close to that kind of glowing praise. For my money, Galaxy 2 is not just the best game on the Wii, it is a game that is seperate to pretty much all other games. Like Neon, I never play it for hours at a time, choosing instead to savour it for ... well, for as long as I possibly can! I may have given Pacman ***** Yeah Edition my own GOTY, but Galaxy 2 easily gets my GOAT.

I played the whole game, I've loved and grew up with Nintendo games so no trolling or whatever.

This game sucks. I read a lot about how the level design is imaginative, that's true I guess but it still made me stop playing the game when I found out I had to do EVERY level again. If they had so much imagination, why did they choose to repeate levels? If someone needs an example of how to do a dissapointing final boss then this game has the perfect example. I killed him in about 40 seconds and he didn't even attack me or anything. The music was cool though, it was just a shame the game didn't let me listen to it. Every power up is boring too. The fire/ice flowers don't last long enought to get any entertainment out of them, just that basic 'use item to hit switch, never use item again' kinda thing. Bee Mario is just boring, and I think the bee level from the first SMG was copy and pasted into 2, everyone in the world hates vuvuzelas now, there's no need to make people listen to that sound even more. Oh, and on the menu screen Mario says "Super Mario Galaxyyyyy" without a 2, Nintendo just didn't bother changing it, just like they didn't bother changing the rest of the game.

It's better than the first Galaxy, but that's not saying much.

Show Spoiler What's a paragraph? I wrote all that without really thinking, which is why there's no structure.

Only 6th... I expected it to be atleast fourth but what ever comes next on this list must really be great! This is a brilliant game, but I will agree with steg with the point that getting 100% (with all grean stars) is just border line crazy near the end, I mean how am I supposed to workout that I need [spoliers] to jump of the edge of a level in a very specific way get the star, (let alone finding where is first. I would of liked it if you didn't have to finish the entire game get the green stars but could of got the while playing the level the first time, on the way to another (like the way you got 100 coin stars in mario 64)....

I wonder what else is on the list, I mean 3 are obivious (they are on the game of the year hub pictures), but what else... hmmm... Confused

I stopped caring about the over rated Galaxy games long ago.
I played the demo of LBP2 this week and in 3 levels it showed more imagination, varied gameplay and better art/visuals than both Galaxy games.Problem is,it's made by the press unpopular Sony and not the darling that is Ninty.

You cant compare a 3 level demo to a full game. Of course a 3 level game or demo will be more varied, you only have to think of three unique ideas for each level to be totally different and to have no repetition. However, in a full game like Galaxy with (just a guess) 40 levels, there is only a very small chance, an infinitesimally small chance, that you can think up 40 different ideas. Therefore, a simple calculation will show that not every level would be unique and, as a consequence, less varied.

Who's to say that LBP2 wont only have 5 ideas over a 100 level story. That's 20 levels that you're riding animals, 20 that your running and jumping... you get the idea. It will feel very rinse and repeat.. Demo's are only a taster after all.
