That's an absurd thing to say.

Clash of Clans making $4 million per day would take 250 days to make $1 billion.

GTA will take 30 days. Yet that to him is not impressive.

Not really how much overheads have Clash of Clans got in comparison to the massive overheads of R*.

I want to know what profit margins each has before I pass it off as absurd.

Of the $ Billion R* has take over last few days how much is their cut after outgoings.

1000s of employes over 10s of employees.

That's not to say taking $Billion isn't impressive as it is and that's the absurd thing but the comparison not so much so.

I'm in agreement with Karl, here. Yes, GTA V has made a mountain of money this week. Will it make as much next month? Next year? Meanwhile, Clash of Clans has the capacity to keep on making the same amount for the next 2 years, easily. You can dig at Molyneux for plenty of the things he has said in the past, but he's making a genuine point worth listening to this time.

Well, he's making an interesting point in what (admittedly not in context) sounds like a fairly obnoxious way.

It is impressive being the largest release in the uk (and possibly world-wide), and the figures that are being talked about are also very impressive, but the absurdly short 'tail' of traditional videogame sales relative to mobile games and other sources of media is something worth thinking about.

He is obsessed with Farmville...! Perhaps he should just join Zynga and be done with it. So much for his desire to become 'indie'.

Molyneux's probably right, in terms of sheer profit vs. cost of production. But then who wants to hear financial analysis from a bloke who now seems to specialise in Kickstarting games that are then choc-full of micro-transactions?

You, Peter, can do one.

So this is why he's made Godus a stupid farmvile clickfest (apparently)?

He wants some of that money and his pathetic 50 grand hammer or whatever didn't quite work?
