| "But for the rest of the leftover Potter fans, it's unlikely they've been swallowed up by gaming culture in the same way. The new generation are unlikely to have learned the traditional controls of shooters."
I'm not sure if that was your thinking or the developers but the first Harry Potter film was released in 2001, the same year as Halo: Combat Evolved. I'm guessing the average age of a Potter film fan back then would have been around 9 years old? So they'd be 18 now and probably disturbingly efficient at head-shotting from across the map in Halo: Reach.
I think they'd have been better off applying a Fable-esque approach rather than FPS approach, and considering the global appeal for the brand aiming it at pre-teen boys seems a little limiting.
Slightly disappointed by the arm-waving, I thought Kinect was more sensitive than that and could work out subtle spell castings by monitoring a bit of deft wrist flicking. Guess the collectors edition won't be coming with a replica wand cased in a box from Ollivander's. |
