Blah, a Dead Space film have already been made IMO - it's called Event Horizon. Heh. Call me weird, but I've never really been a fan of Carpenter. I do love Anderson's films though.

Technically it would be Dead Space is a game made from Event Horizon....Since the movie was around long before the game.

I love John Carpenter and all, he's made some great flicks, but no just no...Doesn't need to have a movie...Although Carpenter should be allowed to way before they even considered letting Paul "can't write" Anderson anywhere near it

Given the similarity of the necromorphs to his original Thing, this would just be The Thing in space. And while Carpenter's version is one of my favourite films, what made it great was the tension and paranoia. That just wouldn't be present in a Dead Space flick;

"Hey best buddy, are you secretly a necromorph looking to kill us all?"

> "Do I look like have massive tentacles extending from my face?"

"No."

> "Well then."

"I would love to make Dead Space [into a film], I'll tell you that right now. That one is ready-made."

Why would you want a ready-made film? There's no skill involved. You're gonna have to try harder than that, Carpenter.

Carpenter's really hit and miss - while he has made some (really) great movies he has also made some piles of sh!t too. And it has been 15 years since he made his last decent movie.

Please no. Which of his movies have made money? Even his cult hits didn't make much money and weren't very well made either. The Thing is a great piece of nostalgia, but that's pretty much about it. I'd rather someone with true sci-fi credentials make it.
