Let's just not have another repeat of Aliens: Colonial Marines please! Their demo looked graphically amazing yet the final product looked awful even when running a high-end PC. If what Kojima says is true however I am very excited, the MGS5 demo looked beautiful!

That's b'cos A:CM's demo wasn't a demo. It was a CGI cutscene.
Kojima doesn't joke about graphics, his games are always the best looking games for that generation

It's an excellent goal, I just hope it achieves it consistently.

MGS4 didn't actually seem to have a FPS cap as such, it was just kept to about 30fps (and sometimes a bit lower) by the onscreen action itself.

I say that because in some of the less detailed areas, the fps was obviously spiking up to 60.

The most important thing imo is a consistent framerate.
Afterall, the PAL version of Zelda OoT and Majora's Mask only ran at 15fps (!?), but they didn't have frequent dips below that.
