Last week you weren't changing your DRM policies, so who knows what could happen.

XBox One is still off my radar. Feels like paying £4.29 for a Swiss Army knife that is mostly tools you already have when you can pay £3.49 for a screwdriver that'll do exactly the job you want it to.

But you can watch TV on it and change channels!? WTF that presentation was about I have no idea. I like how staunchly Simon Miller seems in the xbox camp on all this stuff, defending that presentation and stuff Smile

Yeah from a next gen console I would want it to play films and music, but that's about it. I don't want to surf the web on it, watch tv on it, use it as an umberalla or anything else.

Still too expensive, honestly both consoles don't seem to be as different as each other, why would I pay an extra £80 to play mostly the same games. I also still have a problem with the Kinect listening in on me.

My partner watches a lot of iPlayer, 4oD and Netflix on the 360 as it is. Quite often more than half the people signed in on my frieds list are watching some media service or another...

You may not like it personally, but such media services are undeniably a convenient development that cannot be ignored.

The manditory Kinect on board is why as a Xbox and Xbox 360 owner, I will not buy a Xbone. but will rather keep my 360 or jump to PS4.
If they also market a "kinectless" xbone, then I would buy one.
For MS to say that I can just turn off kinect at the console settings are just words.
I would need to know that the kinect is truly off via its power source connector (cord or USB cable unplug) "A must have in order to Game?" No, thank you.

The streaming media services you get on Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U and will get on PS4 and Xbox One are pretty good, yes. Nice to have that choice of services, too.

But as long as they still take second place to good games. Xbox One does seem to have these games (at least from previews we've seen), so anything else is an extra.

It's clear that some will want these extras and will pay more for them and some will not. It's just a shame the exclusive ones won't be available at launch.

So, essentially, at launch you are paying extra for Kinect. Again, that's all down to choice and whether you've bought in to the whole Kinect thing. I've had fun with the limited use of Kinect 1.0 and I'm hoping the new improved version can drive some interesting concepts forward, but I'm not 100% sure whether it will. I think that's only because we were burned by what Kinect first promised before we realised the reality. Maybe the new model can deliver, though.

So £80 extra is really focused on Kinect and those exclusives. The pricing is probably right for the extra hardware. Whether Xbox One is worth it will be purely down to your personal tastes.

Personally, I see no reason for them to back down on the price. The console is worth what it is worth, at the end of the day. Regardless of price, the market will only ever pay what it is willing to, and unless that Kinect camera that I have absolutely no use or desire for becomes a free extra, then it is above the price I am willing to pay for one. Free Market Economy 101.

I agree 100%, I see a lot of posts on reddit from people selling their Xbox 360's and I just think to myself why I could understand your dislike for the Xbox One but the 360 is still a great console. I find Kinect interesting but I wouldn't pay an extra £80 for it.
