Everytime I see the word PETA these days I get an irrational urge to kill a kitten. Coming from a cat lover this is probably evidence of PETA going about things the wrong way.

Is ironic that they made a flash game to protest about a game in which they feel is about abusing animals, when in the game itself your character in the story often defeats shady organisations and groups that abuse pokemon. They are taking the piss out of a series that is self aware enough to know animal abuse is wrong and therefore has you defeat bad people who abuse animals.....

Bets on how long it takes for Nintendo to issue a cease and desist?

I doubt it will happen, PETA did the same thing last year with Super Mario 3d Land, and Nintendo didn't do a thing. They made an entire animation of mario running in the bloody skin of a tanooki suit, whilst tanooki racoons walked around naked and fur-less.

I guess Nintendo thought that the idea that their game could be construed as cruel to animals was ridiculous, and it still is ridiculous now...

If PETA decided to make this a yearly habit, then maybe Nintendo will take action but not now.

I admire what they're trying to do, but IMO they're going about it the wrong way.

PETA isn't educating anyone about animal abuse, especially not kids. All they're doing is giving themselves a bad rep as the company that protests against the silliest of things, as well as being in the headlines for making rubbish paraodies.

Blah I don't know, I'm too cynical anyways - part of me kinda thinks the world is beyond redemption. The endless cycles of killing, wasting, and consuming is so ingrained in our cultures now I just don't think we're capable of change, even if we wanted to.

I have two problems with this game.

1.) Try using just Protest and Group Hug in the first battle. You will lose. The only way to actually win is by engaging in the battle, and using Thunderbolt on Cheren. This can only mean that PETA endorse violence.

2.) If you can continue to the end, as I did, you will battle against Ash. Pikachu complains to Ash that "You never showed any compassion towards me. You never let me out of the ball." What utter nonsense! Anyone who has seen even one episode of the anime knows full well that Pikachu doesn't go in the ball. This is a somewhat big mistake, because it completely undermines the campaign.

    Actually, I have three problems.

    3.)

It would of made better sence if PETA had in some way lnked themselves in the anime to endorse there movement against animal abuse. That show still appeals to kid now and has a totally pro friendship with pokemon storyline. Instead they make fun of the franchise by things that are totally inaqurate to what the plot in the show or games portray....
