REALPLAY Golf Review
Quote:
Like all the Realplay games it does lack in terms of production values, depth and quality, but Golf is probably ideal for some Christmas Day hilarity with the family.

Anyone who has played real golf on a real course will get frustrated with this game pretty quick. It's difficult to create an accurate swing speed (especially when trying to make a pitch shot), chipping is non-existent and forget even making a regular putt. The greens are as hard as concrete and as bumpy as a BMX course. When the ball lands on the green it will very often hit a bump and bounce right back off the green. Like I said there's no chipping, so when your ball is just a few feet from the green, you're forced to pitch it up and hope it doesn't fly over the green. When you take your tee-shot, and it becomes an "unplayable lie", you can't see where the ball landed, so there's no way of knowing what kind of correction you need to make. The ball reacts to a 2 mph wind like it was a 15mph wind, carrying it away from where you aimed it. And then there's the bunkers....they don't play like real bunkers.

So, if it's horrible weather outside, but you still want to play golf on a computer.... get Tiger Woods PGA Tour or something similar. Real Play Golf may be cheap, but it's not worth the frustration.
