Capcom has announced that net sales decreased to 11,953 million yen for fiscal year 2011 - ended June 30, 2011. This is down 37.2 per cent from fiscal 2010.

*CAPCOM RESIDENT EVIL: MERCS 3DS PROJECTED SALES CHART*

Hi guys,

As you all know we are releasing a free mini game to retail this season. We are sending this software to retail at the full price £34.99. Its pretty light on content and we have used a fairly solid mechanism [un-deleteable save file] to prevent the preowned sales of this title. Please remember that the official reason for the un-deleteable save file is that our software is a high-score game. For the love of gods.. DO NOT LET THEM KNOW WE ARE FIGHTING THE PREOWNED SALES MARKET! As we haven't really put a great deal of effort into this product and it doesn't really have any lasting value, we're predicting that the industry reviews will be scathing. For this reason we only spent £73.16 on development, £200 on publishing and a further £106 on marketing. So, we need to sell 10 copies of Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D to not only achieve predicted sales, but also to break even.

I feel if they hadnt made a decesion to use the save system as they did then the projected numbers would have been much more in effect they have shot themselves in the foot by doing this... which obviously caused a lot of people not to buy this game... and i dont mean from 2nd hand sales... as they dont receive anything for this...
