That doesn't surprise me fella, expensive on Xbox and PS3 as well. But PS3 have had some decent offers like Max Payne 3 with a season pass for 28 quid, that's a step in the right direction in all fairness.

The problem is in some ways is that if they sell the game for much less then retail, all the retailers themselves will try to under cut the downloadable price. The platform holders make a lot of money from retail units sold so if the retail prices were cut in retaliation to the digital prices they would be the ones loosing out the most.

Selling digital games for full retial price is annoying, but it will do more harm then good for everyone else if they try to compete with retail prices.. Including the consumers in some ways.

I don't think digital selling at less than retail is the problem here, it's more a case of digital versions being offered £39.99 when the retail version costs less than £25 smacks of sheer greed and a general unwillingness to promote digital as a viable delivery method for games.

Yep, the prices are all wrong for digital content. The problem comes when people still buy them at that price, so the companies still keep churning them out at the same price.

That is true. For newer games selling them at full retail price is fair enough, but with super Mario 3D land, Mario kart 7 etc. which are nearly a year old, they should really bring down the price. It should really be more like the steam store and have the price gradually decrease in line with current retail price over the course of a couple years, the minimum price at the end of that being like £15.

To be fair though no console digital store has really done this right yet, and I doubt it will be the 3DS store. Maybe the Wii U or the other next home console store will get pricing right.
