It's got some of the same DNA as Criterion's racers, but right now The Crew's interesting world is being let down by dull events.

I think this is pretty spot on, a solid game and fun can be had with it, but it's pretty unremarkable, falling short in mission focused areas.

I must say though, I think the devs have absolutely NAILED the in-car perspective. There's some great ambient occlusion going on. Meaning if you're the type that just likes to chill and drive around in an open-world driving game, a la Test Drive Unlimited, then I think this game does a great job of it, especially when you find yourself on the Bonneville Salt Flats at sun-rise. They're are some really pretty driving moments to be had in this game.

If you ask me, it's the best Need For Speed game since the original Most Wanted.

Reminded me of most wanted too. Just not a great version of it. The "all of america" premise is great though, just seems like there's not a lot of fun to be had in it.

Can't really argue with these points, but I have to admit I enjoyed the beta much more than I thought I would. I probably just miss burnout paradise and the older nfs games, and the crew has elements of both.
