An enjoyable intriguing piece of DLC that doesn't add much to the almighty experience that was The Last Of Us.

Its kinda strange, what you say sounds like I can enjoy the DLC quite a lot and I do love The Last of Us. But I don't feel the need to play it... I probably will someday, when I make a Re-play of The Last of Us, but I don't feel like turning on my PS3 now just for the DLC.
Dunno why.

I don't imagine much Last of Us storytelling or touching moments can occur in two hours of game. I'd honestly rather have an expansion or sequel to really get some meat to bite into.
And that's what's made me not really bother with this DLC. I'm sure it's all good while it's there, but it won't be the same as the main game moments, with that pacing.
I'll wait for the sale.

To be fair you say two hours isn't long enough for 'touching moments/ last of us storytelling', well in the full game I'm pretty sure most will agree that the opening 15 minutes alone were enough for many to be left emotionally devastated and fully engaged in the story of Joel. So i don't think the length of this DLC can be a criticism if the overall experience is still brilliant. Then again I am yet to play it but am immensely looking forward to doing so.

2 hours is the length of a film, that's enough for touching moments to occur. Admittedly this is a lot more shooting based. But it took me over 3 hours, although part of that was wandering around a room for ages because I'd missed an obvious puzzle component. Also it might just be that I'm out of practice, but the infected seemed harder to kill.

Still 2 hours does seem a bit quick to me, if you want to really take the time to explore everything it should take a bit longer.

I was a bit hesitant on the score before playing it; but now that I finished Left Behind, I wholeheartedly agree with the review. It's a nice add-on to the game, and if you just want to play more of The Last of Us, this is pretty good. The fights were a bit odd, yeah, mostly near the end. A sudden difficulty spike, like you mentioned, that felt like it had to be there just because the game is about to end.

I really liked it, but admit it was a tad unnecessary, if only because The Last of Us wrapped things up so tightly. What's covered in Left Behind is mostly implied on the main game, really. It's nice to literally see these events happen, but it wouldn't had been a loss if we didn't.

2 hours is easily enough for touching moments when its like this. the length of a game doesn't matter, its how its told that matters.

just because we've got used to games being really long doesnt mean they all have to be
