THQ's new boss cancels Saints Row expansion - will incorporate it into full-fledged sequel
Potential much greater as a full-priced, full-length, high quality, connected experience, says THQ president.

ie: we can actually make more money out of this.

Cynical hat off, it seems like a good idea and just the fact that they're now doing a sequel is good news for me. There's already been a fair few DLC levels for the current game anyway.

So... first of all Rubin wished to make the SR series more serious, and a contender against the likes of GTA and RDR.

Now he is fully embracing the blatantly OTT action. And slapping on a higer price tag?

Inconsistent much?

Probably based on the fact that Saints Row 3 got a lot of praise from gamers.

The outcry was pretty large... and Rubin realised it is probably most unwise to tick off that already established fanbase.

I'm guessing this will be a spinoff sequel a la (AC: Brotherhood/Revelations) rather than Saints Row 4 (which will presumably also release that year, given the CV evidence and comments from Volition staff), in which case I fear one (or both) may not get the full attention necessary...

I Read the title of the story and was pissed cos was really looking forward to that expansion but after reading the whole story I was like "a new game next year? Ok I'll take that", just hope the superhero thing stays in along with the alien invasion plot line it's what this comedy game needs. Could be the savour of THQ if it does well too.
