For probably the first time in years I only own 2 games from the top 20 - Skyrim, which I bought, and Arkham City, courtesy of Videogamer.com, which I've yet to play.

There are just so many good games coming out nowadays, on top of the so many good games that came out in the last two years, that I've had to stop buying just to play catchup.

There are another 6 games in the current top 20 that I want to get, but as I'm unlikely to be playing them within the next 8 months it just seems pointless, so might as well get them later (and 50-75% cheaper).

I have a feeling the number of gamers in the same position as me is growing, although I have no scientific proof of this. However, if my feeling is true, the way games are marketed and sold will need to change accordingly.
