| Battlefield 1943 for the first part of the week and Mass Effect 2 since I picked it up.
I'm a little disappointed in ME2 20 hours in, mainly because in the first one all your enemies where there on the minimap and you could plan your strategies, in this sequel they come in waves and just when you think you've cleared a room another lot spawn from nowhere (they were hiding in cupboards maybe).
And the dependancy on cover means that the run and gun gameplay which was so much fun in the first is totally absent in my current playthrough. I'll make amends for this when I do a New Game+ and start again on Casual instead of Normal next time around.
Also pretty miffed at loading screens which, whilst contextual, are immersion breakers. At least when I was trapped in a lift with Krogan farts I was still in the game rather than 'Oh, loading screen, I'll go make a cuppa'.
And extremely miffed with the glitch that means you can spend all your Element Zero over and over and buy the same skill over and over until it clicks that buying it again doesn't actually do anything.
And whoever thought scanning planets for resources was fun should be vapourised. It's fun once. I actually miss my unwieldly Mako.
Other than that list of pointless rants it's a cracker, improvements such as being able to respec, feed fish, pfaff about in your cabin and the diversity of environments make the game a necessary purchase. Very glad I took time to complete the first game as both Paragon and Renegade though, as there's so much from the first game that comes back to haunt you and it's slightly easier to judge how certain people will react because you've dealt with them before. |

| Just been playing some mass effect really, trying out Pure as well, actually not too bad, quite a bit of fun. So nothing overly exciting or new, but soon, very soon. |
