| I got this for Christmas, only up to the 2nd island so far but losing the will to continue as it's too repetitive for me.
Strangely, it starts out great, first thing you think is "Hey, it's Fable II with an 18 rating!", but after the first few limb chops it gets old very quickly and there's a distinct lack of immersion, mainly due to the sound as mentioned in the review.
It's a pretty easy game so far even playing on Hard difficulty, and the achievements 'stack' so if you complete sections on Hard you get the achievements for Normal at the same time, so a very quick 1000/1000 Gamerscore if you want it (20-30 hours of gameplay possibly).
Things get a little more tense when you've bought your 'stealth kill' move as you can then sneak around some very heavily populated enemy camps taking out patrols and individual guards one by one as you explore, but that too gets old fast.
Overall I found it more akin to a brutal version of Kameo (which again I couldn't complete due to lack of willpower) rather than a glitch free version of, say, Two Worlds. One thing I didn't like is that the camera is always set at a specific distance from your character, would have been nice to have the ability to zoom in/out a bit to get better views of your surroundings.
I guess for me it's a disappointing 6/10. Just didn't grab me. |
