Going by what was said on the podcast, that Kojima has straight-out stated that Quiet is in Metal Gear due to merchandising potential - that's like the eighties all over again (in that case, it was animated series being made with the purpose being to sell a toy line.) - that's just not good. If that's how cynical HE has become, then that doesn't leave me a lot of hope for the demo, when it arrives!

I know I'm getting ripped off but I will still pay the 40 quid. I would probably pay 40 quid, even if the game was only 30 mins long. It might only basically be a demo but I must have watched the same trailers and gamelay over a hundred times, so any new experience will make me happy. Especially if it is me playing it and will almost feel like the proper game. Mgsv will probably be out June 2015 or something so we will be waiting ages. Ps4 is bare enough as it is. It needs some Mgs even if it is only two hours long.

It seems like everyone who is looking forward only takes away the length issue from the complaints. I have no problem with buying a game that lasts two hours for £20. Hydrophobia for example (although that was much cheaper). What I do have a problem with is spending £40 to play a demo.

The issue isn't the length. It's the price they're asking for the length.

I really wanted to play this game. I still do and I have a feeling I'm gonna end up buying it for the 360 just so I don't feel like I've been conned. But truth be told I don't see the point in buying a last gen game that won't be as good when the current gen version of the game is being released. It's the reason why I held off buying BF4 for the 360. I knew I'd be getting it for the One.

This makes me feel sorry for you.

If I unwittingly forked out £40 on this, I would feel that Konami had just forcefully shafted me in the rear.

But I guess it's not rape if you consent.

I do wonder just how much of it is true. Dark Souls was marketed as hard, yet wasn't, exactly. Sometimes marketing is terrible, and information is nothing compared to the actual experience of the product. I'd wait to hear reviews, see the length and breadth of it.

In terms of Brett's comment about outwitting the consumers by effectively calling it a new game, I do agree. This is something that's not uncommon, marketing it as something new, preying on consumer confusion or misinformation.

I do wonder if Kojima is just fed up of his series, finally, trying to get away from it, and isn't too bothered about any exploitation.

GZ is a difficult one... Yes, £40 is a *lot* of money for something that can (supposedly) be finished in five minutes, but that is just the main mission, with the side missions (No info on any of them, though, so difficult to judge length), and the guaranteed two replays (One full stealth, one full guns-blazing mode), and taking in account the gawking time, you're probably looking at about 8 hours.

£40 for 8 hrs of gaming is still a fair amount, but not the most extortionate thing in recent memory, although, best bit of advice I could give? Wait for Phantom Pain. I can almost guarantee that either Konami themselves, or retailers at least will offer a GZ/PP duo pack for PP price plus £5.

For the record ground zeroes is not a demo its the complete prologue to MGS 5 similar to the Virtuous Mission in MGS3 or the Tanker mission in MGS 2. The price of the physical copy being $10 more than digital is a bit much but to think you would get it for free is kind of sad.

Its not a demo. Its dlc released before the main game. It is inappropriately priced. I also thing kojima is on an ego trip likening it to modern classics like journey. Yes it may be as good but at more than twice the price it should be more than twice as good.
