the ign forum reaction to this story was mind boggling. its all business fluff, if interviewed whats he going to say, no we're not good enough?
also, i kind of agree, the launch lineup isnt particularly enticing, and hes not saying nintendos was better (god it wasnt), so hes technically right.
also, the point about nintendo rehashing franchises is getting stale, when people get so excited about assassins creed or cod, and ubisoft have publicly said theyre not making games that arent franchises. so thats that then.
rant over ^^

Reggie strikes me as someone who is constantly cheerful no matter what. A bit like Nintendo, then, I guess.

But I guess they can just about afford to be at the moment. They still need to get their arses into gear and get some software that will shift the damn console, though. Oh, and some better PR people.

I'm sorry but what the jeff has he been smoking, he's talking about a 'meh' launch like up comparing it to wii U that didn't even have a launch line up and still waiting for any other decent games to come out for it. Console power is a big thing and when your trying to beat your rivals bigger numbers means better and bigger numbers mean developers can do bigger n better things with them.

Nintendo have already admitted, no, they publicly apologised for the Wii U launch.

Quote:
Console power is a big thing and when your trying to beat your rivals bigger numbers means better and bigger numbers mean developers can do bigger n better things with them.

For the sake of balance:
NES less powerful than Master-System
Playstation less powerful than N64
Playstation 2 less powerful than Gamecube or Xbox
Wii much less powerful than X360/PS3
Nintendo DS much less powerful than PSP
3DS much less powerful than Vita.

Historically, more power has never guaranteed the highest number of sales.

The Wii U's problem is a distinct lack of games, never mind the lack of a killer-app.
You can still do great things with less power, you just have to be clever about it.
Skyward Sword was my favourite game of 2011, despite the Wii's limitations.

Yeah I agree power isn't everything but all the big developers want that power, all the smaller developers didn't mind less power as there was less pressure to make massive graphical games, but there all gone now, only option left is indie developers but they want to get the biggest audience and with the main audience wanting all the big games and all the big games been developed on the most powerful consoles there gonna develop indies for them leaving wii u stuck in a tricky position that have lost the main market, it was never helped by the time frame In which it was released, everyone knew that next gen was on the way it was way too late for them to release a new console that was only up to current gen standards at the time if only slightly more. They should concentrate on there next console now I don't want to see them drop out of the race only catch up, there in a position now where they could get one step ahead of MS n Sony and in a couple if years beat them with power maybe leaving them on the back leg instead, they got the funds to do so, Wii is still selling string and so are the DS's, hopefully there killer apps like Mario will save wii u but still they should get on with the next next gen in the mean time.

They need more Nintendo orientated games from 3rd party companies, not the same franchises as Sony and MS. That's what will sell the Wii U, differentiate.
