Not in my experience lads - I've been surprised by aliens (Mutons and Chryssalids) rushing my position whilst my squad has been hunkered down outside a (formerly, until they burst through) closed door.
Good times.
P.S. It pains me to see you waste opportunities when you don't put snipers into Overwatch with a pistol after a non-dashing move - mine carry Plasma variants that are highly effective (range, accuracy and damage), and have saved asses upon multiple occasions (especially when wielded by S.C.O.P.E-equipped Opportunists) |
