Need Some Help Promoting Petition
Just looking for ideas really, and most of you know which petition I'm on about (it's in my sig, sign it dagnabbit!).

So far I've:

- Twittered (using hashtags like #USWNT, #XBOX, #PS3, #WoW, #GirlGamers, #FIFA)
- E-mailed Girl Gamer sites and Girl Soccer sites (found through Google)
- Posted on various forums (Kotaku, TheVerge, IGN (mods took it down), Videogamer.com, EA's own FIFA forums, which incidentally appear to be a cesspit of male chauvanism, couple of Gamer Girl Clan forums I had access to etc).
- Facebooked it to everyone (they're sick of it)
- Informed the petition starter of leads she could follow up, like mailing the editor of SheKicks.net who seemed interested in promoting it.
- Spammed my XBox Live Friends List

So far the petition has gained a steady stream of signatures, just over 4,000 in a couple of weeks with 15,000 to go, just looking for suggestions as to how I can promote it further. Am I missing a demographic eager to vote? Am I missing a way to contact them? Anyone got access to a botnet that can spam out 3 billion e-mails a day?

Even... would Videogamer do a mailshot via their weekly newsletter e-mail when it gets back up and running?

Or... would Videogamer like to do an exclusive interview with Fernanda Schabarum who started the petition? Maybe even a long-distance phone interview pre-recorded for the podcast?

All ideas and suggestions welcome. I'd ask you all reading this to go spam a few forums too and let all your friends know about the petition, but I think I've already asked that several times and I'm not the pushy type.

So, any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Cheers altaranga and thanks pb. Tell you what, I'll inbox you an article for The Joypads that I'm writing now and you can do what you wish with it (you'll have full Editorial rights etc).

Update: Article sent, first draft and corrected copy 8 minutes later, just ignore the first draft!

Just hit Twitter, Facebook and it's up on my site. Smile hopefully that should help. Even if it's only a little.

When a site called VideoGamerGuy supports what is essentially a female cause... what can I say? Love the angle about it being a bigger update to the FIFA series than the usual small incrementations, great job and thank you!

I just read the videogamerguy.com article, it is great, especially coming from a guy. I'll be posting it around. You can keep sending them to me. And I'll be writing to Jen from shekicks shortly.

Also, I wanted to tell you that EA Sports got in touch with me and I have a phone meeting with their executie producer, David Rutter, next tuesday. They want to know what I have to say.

So, if you have any questions for them or any suggestions for me, I'm all ears. As of now, I've gathered all information I could with the articles and comments people have been posting on the petition and articles, just like yours.

Thank you so much, again, for helping me out with the cause. I think we're on the right track.

It was only a quick throw together in about 15 minutes, but I actually feel pretty strongly about this; why shouldn't female teams be glorified in a similar way to the guy teams! Heck, I'd PREFER to watch the girls, they seem to play much more exhilarating games, especially when most of the england squad volenteer. Stuff the overplayed towns who do it for money..

/rant.

Thanks for the appreciation, both yourself and Fernanda, it's always nice to have somebody like your work. I'll whole heartedly back this project. And I've a few ideas for an email interview with EA (I realise Fernanda is asking questions etc, but a second source of pressure can never hurt).

I think I'll be writing an opinion peice on this tonight/tomorrow. It's got me fired up and has taken priority over the other stuff I was doing (even the 3DS XL review). I'd be greatfull if you could forward my appreciation and. Thanks FM!

I've sent her links to all applicable threads pertaining to her petition, she can read this thread anytime she wants so I'm sure she'll see your thanks. I'll forward it to her in my next communication anyhow.

That fired up feeling you get? It's not just women's football. Think about why they're not hanging around forums as much as we do. Answer: they don't like what they'll see if they do. Our online communities have to change too, we don't exactly make them feel welcome most of the time.

Added a story. I've used a few of the elements from your text, but added a little spin of my own, as I needed it to be a little shorter, as well as a little photoshop magic to provide a bit of visual punch.

Let me know what you think and feel free to suggest any changes.
