Yea, school is about to come back in, so I went to... The mall....
I got there, and found a decent parking place. So then, I go in, blah blah, and the place where I was going to get my sexy shoes was closed for remodeling. So I had to go other places. The whole time I was there I couldnt help but think to myself: I wonder what my computer is up to.
What does everyone else do when they go out in public? I know its a hard time for all of us, but really, what do you guys do?

Does your computer have a habit of walking about when you're not watching it?
Congratulations on the weirdest post ever too!

I caught my computer trying to achieve self-awareness when I wasn't looking the other day. I put a stop to that pretty sharpish I can tell you.
'What do you do in public' is possibly the oddest question I've ever heard asked on a forum. How long do you have?
As I'm not sure a forum post is the best place to try and describe the full gamete of human existence.

When i'm in public I try and act normal knowing our computer-based lifeform overelords want to kill me. I have locked up my computer in a safe when i'm not around. It once tried to escape and warn the other computer overlords, lets just say it won't be walking away anytime soon.

When I'm not around my computer is always running this:
Which basically means it searches for extra terrestrial intelligence by analysing radio telescope data. AI searching for ET. Of course it could do something like search for rare occurrences in chemical reactions, analyse asteroid shapes and spins, help with humanitarian research and so on, there's a whole list of projects so complex that they require the donation of a little spare CPU processing from wherever they can get it.
Which frees me up to do lots of outdoorsy stuff* without worrying about whether ET is out there or not.
*This includes thinking about outside, wondering what 'outside' actually looks like, opening windows**, and exploring vast worlds and new environments via videogames***.
**from the inside.

They may pretend to be helping humanity and trying to defend against alien scum but they are really taking over the space station to help over throw the world with the xcom project realizing what is going on. You need to waterboard that computer and get it to reveal it's secrets. Few people know this but AMD and Nvidia are the real Illuminati and are cyborg Mayans

@FantasyMeister, where did you get that programme? It looks like something SETI put out a while ago that I tried to run on my computer, but then my hard drive died, and I just forgot to put it on when I installed a new hard drive.
At the same time it reminds me of the film Kairo though. There's this one part where a computer simulation is running, and the little points on it are supposed to represent people. I don't know why I'm reminded of it. Maybe because it's something to represent life?

It's the BOINC client, it takes the projects you want to do and runs them through your CPU for you.
You can grab it here:
and you can run SETI on it as well as a host of other projects that need people to donate processing time.
Never seen Kairo
