There are a ton of video game companions. Which one is your favorite? The person that immediately comes to mind for me is my always trusty sidekick Garrus from Mass Effect. He's stern, he's loyal, he's badass! I never found myself not using him whenever I went on missions.
Elizabeth from BioShock Infinite has most certainly made it to the near top of my list. She's extremely useful (finds ammo, health and Salts for you), doesn’t get in the way during combat, and her ability to open tears can be handy in a pinch. The benefits of having her around sometimes makes you wonder who’s guiding who. Add that to the fact that she’s an interesting, well-rounded character and you have yourself a great video game companion.
Of course, there’s always the good old Alyx Vance. Strong, determined, and beautiful. I'm hoping Valve will take notes from games like Infinite and really develop that connection between Gordon and Alex in the next Half Life installment.
So, what do you guys say? Who’s your favorite video game companion of all time?

I think Wheatley from Portal 2 would be my favorite. His comedy and sense of humor made the game fun and more entertaining right from the start.

Hmmm this is a tricky one, Least favourite would probably be Ashley "LEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOON" from RE4. Or 'hey listen' or Midna, or Carth Onasi what a bell end. Crikey there are a lot of annoying ones.
Does Clementine count because she'd be up there I found myself caring more and more for her as the game went on and as everybody says, when you make choices in that game you think how they'd effect Clem first. I love you Clem.
Another would probably be frog from Chrono Trigger, called Danté in my game, he had a great back story and awesome music and even though he wasnt the most useful I found myself taking him out on excursions a lot!
And how could I forget Boone. Ahh I flippin' love Boone man he was blooming amazing with a rifle and his side quest was sad and great. I dressed the same as him for the majority of my play through so we could be the ultimate team! He didn't take no sh*t either.
So its pretty much between them 3. Unless I have another epiphany

Agro! Knew I was forgetting one. Agro's the man. He shouldn't come back though that was kind of daft

Just remembered something else great about Boone, he had a 'real' side quest in the game but his side quest to me was the assault on Caesar's camp. No one told us we could do it or not do it, we spent ages tooling up, getting ammo and guns before setting off (dressed the same for extra team power).
We walked through the camp systematically killing all the inhabitants and when Caesar emerged Craig didnt even blink, the slow motion kill cam snapped toward Caesar as his head was disintegrated by the 308. hollow point round ripping straight through his eye. The bloody fragments flew backwards as Caesar's lifeless body slumped to the ground all in glorious slow motion. It was done.
Accomplishing this goal bought more satisfaction than completing any of the quests, especially accompanied by Boone's quips 'Thumbs down you son of a bitch' and 'bet he didnt see this coming when we was having his coffee this morning'. I wouldnt have felt this sense of accomplishment or even gone on the mission without Craig Boone and it was one of my favourite moments in the game and it wasnt even a quest. That's why Craig Boone is my favourite videogame companion.
Edit-Just realised this post kinda makes me sound like a psychopath, I'm not I swear!.

EDIT: Sorry, I just feel strongly about this. Agro is by far my fav companion of all time. Also, if Clem counts then I'd choose her as well.

YES! You get so attached to him. And even though it was a tad contrived how he "died" it would have been better if he'd have just stayed dead dont you think?

Boone is a DON. Loved that guy. Controversial opinion for some, but I preferred New Vegas to F3 tbh.
My favourites are Morte from Planescape and Jansen from Lost Oddysey. Absolute jeb-end, but funny as hell.

I liked Rex from New Vegas, but I think my favorite has got to be Yosuke from Persona 4

I loved spending time with Mr Zirkon (Ratchet & Clank Future: A crack in time). That guys sarcastic aggression amused me no end.
