Ok, since I got the Wii U I only have ZombiU. Good game and a good enough launch title, but does come with its problems. After playing on it for a while and getting further. The flaws are starting to appear i.e. frustrations that has really ticked me off! No this isn't the moan thread which Dav did a while ago, but frustrations that give you problems to proceed on.
I know the direction and the idea of ZombiU, yet I feel as if they wanted to make this game a frustrating affair. The save points are questionable but shortcuts back to the safe house make up for it, but still annoying. The overwhelming fact of the Zombies being able to pounce on you and not being able to shake them off is a missed opportunity.
Not only a few missable features and ideas. The progress of getting new weapons more useful items and then harshly die is very unforgiving in this game.
ZombiU isn't the only game as of late but Forza Horizon as well for me personally.

How about how the 360 version of Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed gets bored every so often and decides to freeze with the sole purpose of pissing me off?

Lol! Alpha Protocol is another for its game breaking glitches. That game was filled with bugs, main reason why I stopped playing.

How about anyone who doesn't have the internet (yes, there are still some people who don't) but wants to play pretty much any of the latest releases, all of which now seem to have Day One patches to fix bugs?

A very different 'moan' thread to mine, I don't think anyone would get the two mixed.
I'm not a fan of sparse save points, having to repeat chunks of progress is not for me any more. This is what has stopped my progress on Metroid Prime recently. I'd play for 30+ minutes and die. Replay the same 30+ minutes and die again. Back in the Gamecibe days this obviously wasn't an issue as I finished the game but fast forward a few years and it is a different story. I like regular checkpoints or a 'save when you want' system to abuse. ZombiU doesn't sound like it is for me.

I've still not clocked Bayonetta for the same reason - a brilliant game filled with difficulty spikes, which is fine in itself, but combined with VERY sparse save points, which makes for a frustrating experience at times.
I think in Japanese titles and survival-style games like ZombiU (Dark Souls as well of course) this is usually a deliberate design choice by the developers to make the game tougher, and thus give the player a greater sense of achievement when they succeed. But this does assume that you have time to slog for an hour to get to the next save point, which plenty of us don't. And doesn't stop it getting right on your tits in the process.

Yeah thats what I think as well but to me it's still a pain and I just don't see the skill in it. It's almost the same as making the levels bigger for the hell of it or just shoving more of the enemies you have already killed in earlier levels.
Grinding bosses are pointless as well like in Deus Ex:HR and Gears 3 etc.
This quote just screams at me when I see things like that in games.
"We know you can do this but we are just gonna make things hassle for the hell of it which takes little effort from us"
The only area where it shouldn't happen is racing games, who demanded a rewind feature for racing!
