Why people hate Call of Duty? What has Call of Duty done to people that made them hate it??
People complain about graphics not changing. IF Call of Duty had more realistic graphics it will lose its genre of being"fun arcade shooter". And then people would complain that Call of Duty copies Battlefield."BATTLEFIELD WANNABE".
I think Call of Duty has always been about gameplay not graphics and always will. I love it as long it provides a awesome and enjoyable gameplay.
Haters gonna hate!

I don't hate COD but I won't buy the new game. Reason I mainly play COD for single player as unbelievably most of my friends choose other games to play online. The story is usually quite weak due to it being churned out year on year. This is very much the case for me with other franchises also Assassins Creed for example.
I think this is also the sentiment of quite a few of the online COD players. A yearly release of what is essentially the same game with a few tweaks can ultimately lead people to the need to change.
Most people I know whom play COD are all turning to Battlefield 4 this time round as they feel it will offer something different.
If GTA released a game yearly I'm sure the Hype would also fall away from that IP too. Which is best for business I'm unsure. GTA has done huge numbers and everyone is looking forward to the next iteration in a few years time where as COD is just the same old same old where we have to get excited about a dog for the newest release. But unlike something like Fable 3 where I got attached to my Pet I don't see that with COD.
To sum up COD has gotten boring.

^ What he said.
I remember queuing up for Modern Warfare 2 and I was unbelievably excited. The original Modern Warfare is still an amazing game because it felt really fresh, to me anyway. The excellent story and memorable moments seem to have been traded for an annual title that's essentially a reliable cash cow.
I don't hate COD at all, but it does represent something I, and other gamers, do hate - innovation being stifled so we can be sold the same stale sh*t every year

The original few 'Call of Duty's were good games - it was a good concept. The reason I think a lot of people dislike COD is that it recycles it all year in, year out, and adds a massive price tag for the privilege.
COD was fun and interesting once. Now it's all become a bit predictable and, well, safe.

+ 1 what Karlius said.
COD4: Modern Warfare still one of the best games I've played this gen, but by the time I got to Black Ops I was bored silly by it all. Not picked one up since, and definitely won't be picking up Ghosts.
Plus of course it's the biggest-selling game on the market. That in itself is more than enough for certain type of gamers to hate on it.

I agree with Saph on this one - COD hate tends to be the feeling like your being sold the same game year after year - I used to buy it all the time but now I have less time to play games I haven't bought a game almost all year.
Battlefield fulfills a very different need in many gamers - especially the 64 player aspect on PC.
I played the pants off BF2 back in the day and played some BF3 before getting bored. I won't be getting BF4 for now - not until the price goes down and I see what their plans are in terms of timing of BF5 or BF:BC3.
I don't see the point in getting so vitriolic about who likes what games these days. I suppose I have mellowed..

Sorry, I'm afraid you're not a Real Gamer if you don't care enough to take massive, ignorant, vitriolic brain-dumps over every comments section you come across. SORT IT OUT.

Eh call of duty was good back in the day, now its just the same thing over and over and i think thats where the hate is coming from. Battlefield is getting pretty good but the maps are huge and i hate that, if there was more close quarter maps id like it more.
But i found another fps that I like more than cod and bf, its called insurgency look it up, its an awesome game more realistic, you dont see everyone running through the middle of the map cuz you die in 2 shots so you gota be careful.

The reason BF maps are generally bigger is to accommodate the vehicle play. There are smaller infantry maps but IMO if they got too small they would be slipping dangerously into COD arcade shooter territory.
