Marvel vs Capcom 3
Really am looking forward to Marvel Vs Capcom 3. I have even cancelled my pre-order on Bulleststorm and replaced it with this.

Do you think MVC3 will be as successful as SFIV? Maybe with some SF characters in the game will boost for those who just joined the SF franchise with SFIV and get sales in that way. I can see a few sales gains specifically on Marvel, but I will be getting the game on the principles off. Its Capcom, it has Ryu, Chun-Li and IronMan, Wolverine and Spiderman. The gameplay looks very fluid and fast and a mode called 'simple' mode which eliminates the complexity into the controls for the game for them normal attack, special attack and ultra attack.

Sounds more appealing to the newcomers but I think I will be spending more time with this than SFIV. Yes, SSFIV was the actual game for myself to actually get better at the game but with MVC3. I guess a fightstick isn't required to fully experience a game such as this.

You can read VG's preview of MVC3 here.

Sounds to me that Marvel vs Capcom 3 could well be the dark horse in February.

What are your views on the game?

I definitely think MvC3 is gonna be the new SSFIV. Streetfighter is notoriously hard to master and heavily technical in the extreme. Whereas the vs games are much more accessible and allow even novices to pull off flashy awesome looking stuff!!

I've pre-ordered in two places so far, ShopTo and my local Gamestation, and i'm contemplating booking the 18th off work already Smile Incidentally where have you preordered Wido?

It wont be as popular, but I think a lot of people who have not yet played an MvC game will be interested; myself included. Hopefully there will be a proper demo for it rather than the 'multiplayer only' rubbish they pulled with MvC2 on XBLA.

I'll rent it at most, probably.

At the moment they've said they dont have time in their schedule to produce a demo. Not in time for launch anyway. Course that doesn't mean they wont do one later, the absence of a demo might be a stumbling block for a lot of people.

Dark horse?

Nothing dark about this one, Wido. It will be a big hit, both with fight fans and non-fighters alike, precisely because of the OTT nature of the game and the Marvel rosta. Let's face it, it looks stunning in action. And the Ultras were a huge part of SFIVs appeal to the non-hardcore fight fraternity. The fight fans will want it because ... it's Capcom. We know they deliver.

I am going to be on my backside for the 18th anyway, as I will be recovering from my bilateral inguinal hernia (yes, that means I have TWO of them!) operation that is due three days earlier, so I will hopefully have plenty of time to get into it. I predict that I will be dishing out some easy wins for people, because I don't want to stress myself too much...

I have pre-ordered with Shopto. I did pre-order with Gamestation for the Steelbook edition but that will cost me £39.99, where as Shopto was selling it for £32.85 with a free comic book which is totally the best offer for that game.

@Lee - Ah. I hope so. I have played MVC2 and I found it to be just as hard as Street Fighter. I'm more use to SF than MVC. Oh and get well soon due to the op! Grin

Overall. The game looks bloody classy. Shall have to whip up a Tourney for this and a possible Forum vs Staff game night? The SF one proved very popular.

I'm gonna be such a greenhorn when this is released compared to SSF4 lol. The major differences between streetfighter and a vs game is how strict the mechanics are on how you can link things together and when inputs are recognised. Streetfighter is REALLY strict, which makes it much harder to progress further than being 'quite good' as you need to know things like frame data and all sorts of other crap a lot of people dont even know exists!

ShopTo for me too! Though i wanted the independent t-shirt Sad DId you pre-pay your pre-order?

Nope. Grin Shall just leave it till the Wednesday when they charge my account and dispatch my copy of the game.

I watched IGN preview of MVC3. Very good watch to be honest. Something I like to see VG do sometime in the future.

The complexity to SF to nail the combo's are intense stuff. When I look at MVC3 with its super fast pace fighting. I know for sure that I wanted to have some of that pie. Seriously cannot wait. I will be game for some matches even if I do get my arse handed to me on a silver platter!

Characters have been getting better and better imo. Only Hsien Ko and Sentinel left if you dont count RE5 Jill Valentine and Shuma Gorath. Such a better cast than the previous game! Every single character looks feasible and deadly in the right hands, there's not one character I've seen that doesn't look useful and/or fun to play. Thats a major achievement considering in SSF4 I only really like about 4 of the characters!

Need to give it a few days before i try book the 18th off, because i had to tell my boss that I wont be relocating to London and could he please fill out my rental reference form. I dont think it went down too well Sad
