MW2: Your Custom Classes
So I'm doing a lot of experimenting in MW2 to find which are my favourite combinations of weapon, perk and equipment loadouts. I figured it would be good to make a thread to describe our custom classes so others can try them out!

I think the best way to do this will be to state the name, primary and secondary weapons, any special equipment / perks and then a brief explanation. Also state your current level so people know at which level they should be able to assemble your custom class for themselves.

Here is 1 of mine...

"All Purpose"
Level 21
Primary: Scar-H Assault Rifle w/silencer
Secondary: AT4-HS Launcher
Perks used: Sleight of hand pro, Hardline pro, Commando pro

Explanation: This is my go-to load out for almost any map size. The Scar is usually unwieldy but attaching the silencer reduces most of the recoil keeping your bursts accurate and reducing muzzle flare that might give away your position. The AT4 rocket launcher is to shoot down UAVs and other air craft, doing so can rack up some serious bonus points AND cripple the opposing teams use of radar.

If I have one big qualm with the Scar its that the high stopping power is offset by a small magazine and relatively slow reload time. Sleight of hand reduces the reload to a little over a second. Hardline pro is of course to unlock kill streak bonuses 1 kill earlier (only 2 kills for UAV? So worth it) and Commando Pro gives me SOME close range offensive abilities without the need for a shotgun or other close range weapon.

I also keep a throwing knife on me. They're pretty useless but when you DO kill someone with it you feel like a king Lol

Level 17

"Tight Assault"
Primary: FAMAS w/ACOG Sight
Secondary: USP .45
Perks: Marathon, Hardline Pro, Scrambler

This is my main class. I play by accuracy, but don't camp enough to use a sniper rifle, the the short burst FAMAS is my choice. Also it's the AR that Snake used in Metal Gear Solid so it's SUPER cool.

"Assault"
Primary: M4A1
Secondary: Spas 12
Perks: Slight of Hand. Stopping Power, Steady Aim

"Thermal Mid-range"
Primary: FAMAS w/Thermal Sight
Secondary: PP2000
Perks: Slight of Hand. Stopping Power, Steady Aim

"Shotty Snipers"
Primary: Barrett .50 Cal
Secondary: Spas 12
Perks: Slight of Hand. Stopping Power, Scrambler

Streaks: 3 - UAV, 5 - Predator, 6 - Precision Strike

Nice. I still dont have a single thermal sight and I really want one. Would make smoke grenades worth having especialy for Domination.

I've not put that much thought into it yet, I'm still just learning the ropes because I didn't play Modern Warfare 1 online. I'm SO happy that grenades aren't as... popular... as they were in MW1, that pissed me off loads for the short amount of time I spent on it.

If I have a bad match, I have a REALLY bad match and just stop caring and may as well quit to preserve my K/D ratio. My highest streak is 8, and unfortunately the best tactic is get a good vantage point, shoot people, move, repeat.

Justify Semtex and Scavenger Pro to me. I've toyed with the idea of rocking both but the descriptions dont make them sound all that useful. I guess Semtex can be used against riot shield guys but do they have any other use? How useful is Scavenger?

Haven't Though Of A Cool Name Yet

Primary: SCAR-H with red dot sight
Secondary: USP
Equipment: Frag / Semtex
Special: 2 x Flash
Perks: Slight of Hand, Stopping Power, Commando

This is my standard setup. I also have a variation with the FAMAS, as I can't quite decide whether I like that or the SCAR more. I'm still working Slight of Hand up towards Pro (i'm only a noob), but the combo of faster reloading / faster aiming sounds like the best 2-for-1 to me.



New Fun Class For Running About Like A Lunatic

Primary: Vector
Secondary: USP
Equipment: Throwing Knife
Special: 2 x Flash
Perks: Marathon, Lightweight, Commando

I'm really not sure if this is any good in a true tactical sense, but I love how fast you move with the Marathon/Lightweight combo. I got three stab-kills in a row last night in the space of about 10 seconds. Is the Vector really worth using? I'm not sure, but I like the lack of recoil and given that i'm normally firing it from close to point-blank, it doesn't really matter.


Quick Opinion Poll: what are your thoughts on Stopping Power? In CoD4 it was pretty much essential, but this time i'm not so sure. I'm really tempted by some of the other perks in that slot, but whenever I switch I'm pestered by the fact that my rounds are less powerful than they could be....

I think you can give up stopping power in exchange for another perk so long as you're using one of the more powerful assault rifles (such as the SCAR). 2 bursts with this and you'll dead somebody with or without SP.

Primary: Intervention with heartbeat sensor and FMJ
Secondary: USP .45 with Akimbo and FMJ
Equipment: Frag Grenade
Special: 2 x Flash
Perks: Bling, Stopping Power, Steady Aim (All pro)

Snipers paradise Grin Heck! I might even call the class A Sniper's Paradise.
