Steam was recently voted as platform of the year at the Golden Joysticks awards. 10 million voters had their say, which resulted in Steam pipping the PS3 and XBox 360 into 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
Despite voting for Steam myself, I'm still quite surprised it managed to beat both consoles, but then it is a great game delivery system.
Which made me think: Should we be paying more attention to the approaching Steamboxes or is there still a lot of hesitation or lack of confidence in Valve's new idea?

It's certainly the best value for money platform, and any success from steambox can only be good for us consumers I'd have thought?

Also I can now play any of my friends' 180 games I dont own whenever he's not online. Though I have to admit to being a bit disappointed in the family sharing system. You dont even have to be playing the same game for the 5 minute timer to kick in.

I do love steam, but it's a dangerous place to visit when it leads you into yet another sale title that you want at a great price that you can't resist.

Ye that's why I think you need some discipline even in the stuff you like.
