Recommend a game
Something I thought the forums was lacking was a thread where you could ask the other forumites to recommend a game to you. You could just ask for any game, you could set criteria (E.G I want a racing game on Vita) up to you.

OK so I would like a decent, beefy, single player JRPG.

Genre: JRPG
Consoles: PS3, PS4, Vita, PC
Price Range: Up to around £15
Games already owned: Final Fantasy games, Valkyria Chronicles, Tales of Graces, The Last Remnant, Persona 4 Golden.

Recommend away!

Isn't Nier meant to be pretty good.

It's a JRPG by Squenix that's meant to be something of a sleeper hit. I'm sure you can find a copy of it on your PS3 quiet cheap at this stage, it came out over three years ago.

I have just got a 3ds XL, so far I have the new Zelda and Super Mario Brothers 2...

As someone who hasn't played any nintendo in a long time what games should I be picking up for the 3ds?

Thanks in advance Smile

On 3DS I would say:

Fire Emblem Awakening - my favorite Game on the 3DS, its brilliant. But of course you kinda have to like SRPGs or that maybe wont work for you.

Luigis Mansion: Dark Moon - A really charming and fun Game with rather unique Ghostbusteresque Gamepelay.

Bravely Default - If you like JRPGs, thats probably the best since a very long Time, its brilliant.

Donkey Kong Country Returns: Seeing one of the Games you bought is a 2D Plattformer, DKC is the King here. You wont find a better Plattformer on the 3Ds.

They just come to my mind, but there are more great Games on the 3DS. And when you mean by "long Time" that you have missed out on the DS theres one hell of a great Libary you can play on the 3DS as well.

As Bomba said Fire Emblem is bloody brilliant. Top recommendation there.

Edit: Should have added that Fire Emblem actually earned my GOTY vote in the community vote last year.

I'm loving Persona 4 Golden and although I know Persona 3 FES has come out on PSN now I don't know how long it will take PS4 to get PS2 emulation sorted and doubt the Vita will any time soon… so my question is how is Persona 3 Portable? Is it in a way a definitive Persona 3 experience? Is FES better?

That's an interesting one, AFAIK the portable version IS very stripped down in that you lose the cutscenes and the character animation when walking around outside of the dungeon is replaced with a small circle like the PSP analogue stick. For me that was a big deal and put me off buying it.
