Share Your X-COM Squad Stories
Like who is your favorite soldier? Whose death was the most harrowing? How ridiculously did you name the medals? How did your entire team of rookies face against that god awful chrysalid whale mission (you know the one)?

For example, my boyfriend's been playing tons of it and I catch glimpses now and then. Our MVP is a French guy called Sebastien "L'Homme" Simon who is a bloody support of all things but can hit aliens behind walls and scream in French (for intimidation purposes of course)

We gave him ALL the medals, and we're crossing our fingers for him to have psionic powers and be THE SAVIOUR OF EARTH or something of that matter.

We are also pretty sure he had an affair with a Belgian sniper in the alien base mission...

You know how emotional X-COM gets!

Finally got Enemy Within today. The past 2 missions:

A UFO was shot down and a squad was sent out. I had named one of the squad after a friend and she's a Heavy and been injured in both her outings so far including the UFO mission.

The Rookie I brought along for that mission - Nigerian, Kojo Kotsi made a daring grab for some meld and successfully flanked the last sectoid from inside of the UFO with a 35% hit chance as my teammates were recovering and repositioning after my friend was healed of her wounds. As a result he was promoted to a Squaddie Assault.

In the next mission when moving through a building my other Assault, a French woman called Juliette Andre was in deep trouble after a squadmate triggered 2 sectoids inside the building, as part of their re-positioning they both had flanked Juliette. The first one fired, she was hit, the second one, the killing blow...missed. Kojo has been brought on this mission and flanked one of the sectoids, taking them out. German, Ernst Haussman, a Squaddie Support had impressed in his previous two outings with efficient killing with enemy in cover and delivered the goods again, saving Juliette.

Ernst was awarded a 'Combat Efficiency' Medal for his excellent showings. Kojo was awarded an 'International Service' Medal for his impressive debut and saviour of a squadmate. He was then the first to be fitted with a Mech suit and makes his debut with it now...on another UFO landing.
