What was your first game?
I don't remember my very first time ever playing a game, I sorta just grew up playing games. I was born in '93 so I never played NES or any of the older consoles when I was little. I think my first games were: Super Mario World, F-Zero, A Link To The Past, Yoshi's Island, The Addams Family, Super Ghouls'n Ghosts, Act Raiser, Mario Paint, Chrono Trigger, and Sim City all for the SNES...

...but never mind me. What were your first games? What generation did you grow up in?

I was born in 93 too but by bros had already sold the snes by the time I was old enough to know what the h-e-c-k was going on. First console was a saturn and one the first games I remember playing is the die hard demo on it. You could hit a guy on the head with a grandfather clock. Also remember nights. We had an amiga too and I played impossamole and silkworm a lot.

Not really sure what my first game was just all mushed in to one.

The bulk of my childhood gaming memories though is the 64

Oh wow. Seriously? That's pretty cool. Did you have one of the Pong consoles or did you play on one of the arcade cabinets?

I can't remember if I went to the Golden Goose Arcade in Southport for my first videogames or whether it was the Pong console we got when I was 11 years old (1977).

I think the Arcade was probably first but haven't a clue what I used to play there.

I'm not 100% sure which was the first I played, because I'd done so at other peoples houses on their machines.
It was the 80's! We still did that, lol!

Super Mario Bros. or SMB2 on the NES are two potential candidates.
But I did get my hands on hand-me-downs of a Commodore 64 and Atari ST.
So my first gaming experience at home was loading games from cassette tapes!
Cops & Robbers and Spyhunter are all I can really remember playing.

EDIT: Scratch that. It was an Atari XE computer only. No C64.
Some recent researching turned that up, since it was all so long ago.

First console though was the Sega Mega-Drive, bundled with the then brand new Sonic the Hedgehog, in late 1991.
Castle of Illusion and Spider-Man vs the Kingpin were other early Mega-Drive games, the latter really being quite beyond 6 year old me. That's still pretty hard to this day!

The first game I can remember playing on a PC was Duke Nukem 3D. As a kid I though the graphics were epic, and they still are in my opinion. Grin
