I know this is luck of the draw, but I think I should win! Reason being that my ALMOST gaming quality machine has just died, and I may as well build a new one as repair it. (No PCI-E, weird custom memory, other unusual problems like that.) So, here's hoping. Also, good luck to all else who enter.

if i win, i'll be willing to sell you my current machine for a reduced price ^^

cost me about 450 to make, so around 250-300 quid sound alright to you? :P

Command your army with ease thanks to this powerful gaming machine.

Here at VideoGamer.com we know that PC gaming can be costly. You've just upgraded your graphics card and then you realise you really need new memory too. By the time you've got that sorted it's probably time to get a new CPU, and the cycle continues. With this in mind and the impending release of SEGA's superb looking Empire: Total War, we've teamed up with the publisher to offer VideoGamer.com readers the chance to win a rather special PC that's ready made to play the new game. Just plug in a keyboard and mouse, hook up your monitor and you'll be set.

Have a stab at the question (good luck...) here: http://www.videogamer.com/features/competition/12-02-2009-642.html

Hello everyone! As you can imagine this was a very popular competition, with thousands of entries. The winner has now been picked by a random selection process on our servers. And the winner is (cue drumroll):

Show Spoiler David, aka dav2612.

Congratulations, you lucky bugger!

For everyone else, bad luck, but be sure to check out VG's other competitions, if you haven't already, where there's a graphics card and Wii up for grabs.

BIG Grats! Nice to see a prize like this ending up in the hands of someone who should get a lot out of it. Just watch out for the little one squeezing jam sandwiches into the CD-ROM drive and hope the better half doesn't get addicted to Mahjong Titans on Vista or you'll never get to use it.

Thanks guys. I've already told the wife she will be watching EastEnders on iPlayer using something slightly better than our falling apart laptop.

And PB, I think I need a keyboard and monitor before I need the games!
