The General Football Discussion Thread
I know that there are a few threads dedicated to specific football related topics, but I thought it would be good to have a general football discussion thread, where we can discuss all the happenings in the footie world.

Firstly, and most importantly, Villa are through to the last eight in the FA cup. We should hopefully win something this season.

Man City are out. Surely Mancini should be sacked now? He's no better than Hughes.

Watched the Chelsea v Inter game last night. An entertaining encounter and I thought Lucio did well keeping Drogba out of the game. The return leg should be good.

...and Wayne Bridge has withdrawn from England selection over the the whole John Terry debacle. I must admit, I feel a bit sorry for Wayne Bridge.

Inter Milan easily the better side. Eto should of scored and Drogba's freekick was unlucky. I dislike Kalou. It wasn't a penalty as you can see that Kalou lifts back of his feet to make it look like a penalty.

Same position as us. Hopefully we can respond against Porto at home. Hopefully Arshavin will be fit, which means Bendtner can attract the attention, head the ball down whilst Arshavin, Eduardo or Vela can find space and be a force.

Well done to Wayne Bridge and Co.

I don't think it is Bridge who should be pulling out of the England squad, but rather Terry. He was awful yesterday, while Bridge was a far more effective player.

Now, come on Villa!!!

Yeah I watching final score yesterday and they were defending him except Garth Crooks who came across as a bit of a nob end.

I didn't see that.

I don't get the Chelski fans booing and abusing Bridge yesterday. He hasn't actually done anything wrong. He has kept his down and got on with things. I wouldn't have shaken Terry's hand either if I was him.

I really think he should reconsider joining the England team. He shouldn't let Terry stop him from competing in the greatest tournament in the world.

He possibly sees him as a distraction when playing alongside him, agianst him is different.
I would have done the exact same thing if I was Bridge. If Chelsea didn't have Cech, they would concede goals all the time.
But I agree it just shows how childish Chelsea's fans are when they booed Bridge.
But Inter aren't much better with the whole throwing a firework at Dida of A.C Milan not so long ago.
I think football fans need to get a grip on reality sometimes and clearly from what I saw Garth Crooks, the pundits as well.

Sod John Terry & Wayne Bridge affair. Aaron Ramsey has had a successful opeartion. Fractures to his fibula and tibia. Total shock to the system but a great result for his besides the setback to Ramsey. I hope he gets well soon! Hes looking a very good player and its sad to him get this horrific injury. Hes a valuable player to us this half of the season with the title race still in the chance with and of course the Champions League.
