| So, people using Chrome will no doubt have noticed that a lot of quick replies fail, and when they do you can't retrieve them. Well, you can
Post fails, right click on the page nearby and select "Inspect Element". It says quickreply there somewhere, and the element has an attribute with value 'disabled', if I remember correctly. Change it to 'enabled' and you will be able to edit what's in the box, including being able to copy the text so you don't have to type it ALL out again 
This is from memory of looking at it once, I'll be more accurate and post pictures when it happens again. In the mean time, if you get this problem, go to 'Inspect Element' and have a poke around.
